Create a Demo Card


To create a demo card:

  1. In Adobe Demos Admin, click Manage Demo Cards:



  2. On the Manage Demo Cards page, click New Demo Card:



  3. On the Create Demo Card page, complete the settings:



    Select demo group*

    Required. Click the drop-down to select a demo group for the demo card to belong to. When you do this, inherited role restrictions appear under Visibility Restrictions below on the page.

    Title*

    Required. Enter the display name of the demo card. See Demo Portal Naming Convention.

    Subtitle

    Enter a subtitle if you need one.

    Description

    Enter a description if you need one.

    Is Active

    Active by default. Make inactive by clicking the toggle button.

    Demo Tags

    Click to select from the drop-down any tags you want to apply. When a reader clicks into a card, they see a list of tags that have been applied and can click one to see all articles with that tag.

    If you need a tag that doesn’t exist, submit a support ticket:

    1. In the portal, click Support at the top right.
    2. On the Adobe Demos Support page, click New Support Ticket to fill out and submit a ticket.

    Visibility Restrictions

    1. Click the Restrict card visibility to selected roles toggle button to restrict which user roles can view the demo card. 
    2. Click the Choose Roles drop-down to select the roles.

    First, restrictions are inherited from the demo group, if it is restricted. Turning this on allows the demo card to be further restricted to only be visible by specific roles (or the roles defined at the group level, if any). You can also restrict only specific assets on a demo card. Any listing of demo cards is automatically trimmed so that users without a matching role can't see it.



  4. Click Create demo card to finish.


Edit a Demo Card


Editing a demo card allows you to change some of the options that were set when the card was created, as well as some options that can be set only after creation.

To edit a demo card:

  1. In Adobe Demos Admin, click Manage Demo Cards:



  2. On the Manage Demo Cards page, on the card you want to edit, click Edit at the bottom left:



  3. On the Edit Demo Card page, complete the settings:



    Select demo group*

    Required. Click the drop-down to select a demo group for the demo card to belong to. When you do this, inherited role restrictions appear under Visibility Restrictions below on the page.

    Title*

    Assets

    Sort assets

    Click Sort assets, then click and hold the stacked line icon to drag the asset up or down to change the order of the assets. Click Save Order when done.

    Owners

    Owners have full administrative control of the demo card. They can edit any information for the demo card, add or remove other owners and contributors, and manage the assets for the card. To add or remove owners:

    1. Click the down arrow.
    2. To remove an owner, click the minus sign () next to the name of the owner you want to remove. When prompted, click Remove.
    3. To add an owner, click Add user:
      1. In the Add user to role dialog, click below Search users by name or email, then type the user’s name or email and select the name in the search results.
      2. Click Add User.

    Contributors

    Contributors can add assets to the demo card, such as drafts, and view information about the assets. To add or remove contributors:

    1. Click the down arrow.
    2. To remove a contributor, click the minus sign () next to the name of the contributor you want to remove. When prompted, click Remove.
    3. To add a contributor, click Add user:
      1. In the Add user to a role dialog, click below Search users by name or email, then type the user’s name and select the name from the search results.
      2. Click Add User.


Add an Asset to a Demo Card

Note: A file cannot be more than 2GB in size.


To add an asset:

  1. In Adobe Demos Admin, click Manage Demo Cards:



  2. On the Manage Demo Cards page, on the card you want to edit, click Edit at the bottom left:



  3. On the Edit Demo Card page, under Assets, click Add asset or link:



  4. On the Create Asset page, complete the settings:



    Name*

    Required. Type a name.

    Description*

    Required. Type a description.

    Click Action*

    Required. Click to select a download action to determine how the asset will be opened:

            Download file

    Downloads file.

            Hosted Web Demo

    Hosts a static website or guided simulation. Must have an index.html file to load.

            Open in Office Online Preview

    Must be an Office file like Word, Excel, or PowerPoint.

            Stream Video

    Opens a video dialog and plays the video.

            Redirect to URL

    Opens a URL.

    File Name*

    Required. Type the full name of the file, including the file extension.

    Asset Type*

    Required. Click to select the type of asset:

           Asset

    General asset.

           Click-through

    Click-through demo.

           Demo Guide

    Document listing steps and talking points for a demo.

           Link

    URL.

    File Type*

    Required. This field controls the icon that is displayed next to the asset on the demo card. Click to select the type of file the asset is:

            Adobe Illustrator

            Adobe InDesign

            Adobe Photoshop

            Adobe XD

    CC Library

    Excel

    Link

    PDF

    PowerPoint

    Video

    Word

    Zip

    Is Active

    Active by default. Make inactive by clicking the toggle button.

    Visibility restrictions

    Publicly visible

    Anyone with the URL to the site.

    Inherit from demo card

    Anyone with view access for the demo card.

    Add additional role restrictions

    Click Choose Roles and select the roles to restrict.

    First, restrictions are inherited from the demo group, if it is restricted. Turning this on allows the demo card to be further restricted to only be visible by specific roles (or the roles defined at the group level, if any). You can also restrict only specific assets on a demo card. Any listing of demo cards is automatically trimmed so that users without a matching role can't see it. 



  5. Click Create asset.


Add an Image to an Asset

Note:     When you add an image to is the first unrestricted asset in the list of assets for a demo card, the first preview image for the asset also appears on the demo card.

To add an image:

  1. In Adobe Demos Admin, click Manage Demo Cards:



  2. On the Manage Demo Cards page, on the card you want to edit, click Edit at the bottom left:



  3. Under Assets, click the pencil icon next to the asset you want to add an image to:



  4. Under Preview Images, click Edit Images:



  5. Click Add Image:



  6. Find and select your image(s), then click Open.
  7. In the Crop and Preview Images dialog, use the magnifying glass icons to zoom in and out, as well as clicking and dragging the image to adjust what part of the image is saved:


  8. Click Add.
  9. The first preview image in the list is the one that's visible to users. To change the order of the images, click and drag the arrows icon in the center of each image you want to move:



  10. To remove an image, click the garbage can icon at the top right of the image.
  11. Click Save. The preview image now appears on the demo card:

    Hover over different parts of the image to see the other preview images.



Use Markdown for a Demo Card Description

To write a description using markdown:

  1. In Adobe Demos Admin, click Manage Demo Cards:



  2. On the Manage Demo Cards page, on the card you want to edit, click Edit at the bottom left:



  3. In the Description field, on the Write tab, type your description with markdown:



  4. To see the rendered markdown, click the Preview tab:



    You can also expand the view by clicking the double arrow icon at the top right of the tab:



    When expanded, you can click the Side-by-side tab to view the markup and rendered text side by side:


  5. Click the double arrow icon to close the expanded view:



  6. Scroll down and click the Save properties button. The description now appears on the demo page:



Demo Portal Naming Convention


Each demo card follows the same title and description conventions. The title includes the Adobe product or product family, the partner's name, and the solution. The description has a short explanation of the asset, technologies, audience, total length, and a separate line that holds all the potential tags.
